WHO ARE WE?

Developing Readers Academy was created by Laura Hillesheim and Megan Penrod, two elementary teachers that share a passion for teaching reading.

Laura and Megan began working together as reading interventionists in 2017 in a small town in Minnesota. They soon discovered they both had the same goal, help every struggling reader they could, find their potential. They began growing deeper skills through incredible trainings such as LETRS and Orton-Gillingham. They began researching, practicing and growing their knowledge around the Science of Reading and Dyslexia.

Laura and Megan are now setting out to reach as many children and families as they can and spread literacy to all.
