We are former public school elementary teachers and reading specialists who bonded over our children, our love for Target, and our OBSESSION with getting kids reading.
We both spent years of our careers teaching kids in a way that was not effective. You read that right. We were using methods that were BAD!
Things started changing once we discovered the Science of Reading, structured literacy, and the Orton-Gillingham approach.
We started witnessing what felt like miraculous growth from all of the struggling readers we worked with. It felt like magic, but it was science!
We couldn't hold this newfound AMAZINGNESS to ourselves, so we founded our small business, Developing Readers Academy, and created our ASPIRE Reading Program, where our mission is to make TOP NOTCH reading education available to all children so that our world can grow into a more safe and joyful place for all!
